China Motor Bus | Air-conditioned Dennis Condor

While Kowloon Motor Bus and Citybus were having their bulk deliveries on Volvo Olympians, China Motor Bus ("CMB") purchased more Dennis Condors than the Volvo products. There were only 64 Volvo Olympians, but 92 air-conditioned Condors had been introduced.

The appearances of these 92 air-conditioned Condors are not the same. In general there are 3 different versions. DA1-56 belong to the first version. Most of their windows have a opening part in the upper portion.

The "opening part" of the windows was abandoned for the second version, which DA57-82 belong to, except the windscreens of the both decks. In addition, the design of the Nippondenso air-conditioner was also modified.

The final version has more changes, both in their appearances and mechanic specifications. You may find the Duple Metsec body of these new Condors are very similar to that of the AD-series Dragons of KMB, and one of the distinct exceptions is that CMB still retains the opening part of the lower-deck windscreen. Another new feature is the 2+2 seating configuration that is first introduced on Condors. Cummins M11 engine is chosen, in order to comply with the new legislation on prohibition of using non-Euro II engine for newly-registered vehicles. The last 10 buses, DA83-92, belong to this version.
